WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines
WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines is an introductory wine educational programme suitable for everyone, either neophytes pursuing an interest in wine or enthusiasts wishing to start a wine career. This hands-on course aims to discover the essential stages of viticulture and vinification. You will explore the main types and styles of wine, and grape varieties through sight, smell, and taste. You will also learn the principles of wine storage and service and gain basic skills in accurately describing wines and pairing wine and food correctly.
Course delivered through online learning in French or English.
WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines is an intermediate course exploring the wines of the world, designed for industry professionals. This course is open to beginners wishing to discover a wide range of wines or to holders of the WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines seeking to build on the introductory knowledge and perfect their skills. First, you will gain an understanding of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Then, through a combination of tasting and theory, you will explore the factors that impact style and quality, and learn the principles of wine tasting and evaluation, thus gaining the know-how to describe wines confidently. Course delivered in classroom mode at our Bordeaux, Toulouse and Pau campuses and through distance learning.
WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and those who have completed WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines. WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and those who have completed WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines. Tasting through the WSET® Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) will occupy an important part of the programme. Upon completing this wine course, you will be able to assess wines accurately and use your knowledge to explain wine style and quality confidently. A 5.5-day course combining tasting and theory,
delivered in classroom mode at our campuses in Bordeaux, Toulouse, and Pau and in e-learning mode.
WSET® Level 4 Diploma in Wines is the most prestigious qualification covering all aspects of wine. Building on the knowledge and skills gained from the WSET® Level 3 Awards in Wines, the Diploma deepens your understanding of how and why wine production and business factors influence the style, quality and market value. Successful graduates acquire exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in evaluative wine tasting, gaining global recognition as authoritative wine specialists. This two-year programme is also an opportunity to meet our team of experts and Masters of Wine. Upon completion, should you wish to progress to the Master of Wine programme, you will be well-prepared.

French Wine Scholar™ Study & Certification Programme
The French Wine Scholar™ education programme is the most advanced, comprehensive, and up-to-date specialised certification course covering all of France’s wine regions. It is an undeniable asset to become an expert on French wines. This wine training course consists of interactive online learning modules and two days of in-class study mode. Using the e-learning platform, you will discover an open training programme on all the French regional appellations and the factors that shape their identities. Then, in face-to-face mode, you will increase your newly-gained knowledge through tasting sessions. The French Wine Scholar™ covers topics such as the history of France and its soil formations as well as more technical issues like grape varieties, grape growing, winemaking and specific regional regulations.

The Italian Wine Scholar™ Prep Course is a solid introduction to the wines of Italy. This course covers the main Italian wine appellations, North to South, with a particular regional approach. In addition, it offers Italian wine enthusiasts comprehensive resources both online and in digital collections. Course delivered in classroom mode in English only at our Bordeaux campus. Your enrolment in the Italian Wine Scholar™ Prep Course includes 1-year access to rich and diverse online resources to consolidate your knowledge over time and beyond the classroom experience.
